![]() There is a close call in an elevator shaft, but where are the guards and the security systems? And why, for that matter, does a deep space cruiser need an observation tower, when every porthole opens on to the universe? But never mind.īack within the sphere of the Jedi Council, Anakin finds that despite his heroism, he will not yet be named a Jedi Master. In the spirit of all the "Star Wars" movies, this rescue sequence flies in the face of logic, since the two pilots are able to board Grievous' command ship and proceed without much trouble to the ship's observation tower, where the chancellor is being held. Grievous (whose voice, by Matthew Woods, sounds curiously wheezy considering the general seems to use replacement parts). As Yoda sadly puts it in his inimitable word order: "The boy you trained, gone he is, consumed by Darth Vader."Īs "Episode III" opens, Anakin Skywalker ( Hayden Christensen) and his friend Obi-Wan Kenobi ( Ewan McGregor) are piloting fighter craft, staging a daring two-man raid to rescue Chancellor Palpatine ( Ian McDiarmid). What we discover in "Episode III" is how and why Anakin lost his way - how a pleasant and brave young man was transformed into a dark, cloaked figure with a fearsome black metal face. Most items from the Revenge of the Sith line are easily found on the secondary market, at very affordable prices. That Anakin Skywalker abandoned the Jedi and went over to the dark side is known to all students of "Star Wars." That his twins Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia would redeem the family name is also known. Hasbro pretty much gave us everything we would need from the prequel finale and even managed to fit a ton of product into an nine month window. The packaging was very colorful and eye catching. The shape of the actual cards were die-cut with a large round bubble taking up most of the card. A large Darth Vader head loomed just above the lava to give it that ominous tone. The packaging on the Revenge of the Sith line was actually quite nice, with the figures placed in a bubble with a Mustafar lave background. Hasbro also released a small line of 12 inch figures. I particularly enjoyed the Evolution sets, which followed the progression of certain characters through action figures. Also released were series featuring Deluxe figures and multipacks. Much like the Geonosis Battle Arena from the Saga Collection, the Mustafar Final Duel playset was massive with a lot of great features and playability. ![]() Hasbro released some really nice exclusive figures, as well as a brand new large scale playset. ![]() There were many smaller sub-sets and packs released with the Revenge of the Sith line, which kept things fun and interesting. The assortment of characters in this line is a bit heavy on the main stars (Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme, Palpatine) but it still works well, with other lesser characters mixed in. ![]() This allowed Hasbro to focus all their energy on (what we thought at the time) the last Star Wars movie ever made. Much like the Episode I line, Hasbro went exclusively with figures from the current movie instead of trying to incorporate characters from other Star Wars films. Hasbro released their new Revenge of the Sith figures in 2005 to coincide with the release of the final movie in the prequel trilogy.
